S Rajam was one of the Master painters of this century who could retain the traditional style of Indian mural art. Rajam art always reflected the detailed treatment of various themes of Hindu Mythology in the mural style. Rajam firmly believed that flowing lines and oriental colours added the authenticity to the mythological themes he worked on. He was first to give faces and shape to the trinity of Karnatik Music and Also to Navagraha, the Nine planets. Rajam had a very long career in course of which there were subtle variations in his styles. Rajam apart from being a Master artist was also a very knowledgeable and respected Vocalist.
